Import a CSV from your bank, Mint, YNAB or Monarch

Bring your history in from a bank export or from Mint, YNAB or Monarch. AI Budgie matches the columns, suggests a category for each shop, skips duplicates, and the whole import can be undone.

Get a CSV file

Export your transactions as CSV from your online banking, or from your old app. Mint’s, YNAB’s and Monarch’s exports are recognised. The file needs one transaction per row with at least a date and an amount, up to 5 MB.

Import it

  1. 1

On the Transactions page, open Import / export → Import CSV and choose the file.

  2. 2

Check which column holds the date, the amount, the description and the category. The preview shows how the first rows will read. Unusual files get an AI suggestion; compare it with the preview.

  3. 3

Check the category suggested for each shop: from how you filed it before, or from AI. Anything you leave is imported uncategorised.

  4. 4

Import. Rows that look like ones already imported are skipped. You can close the window; the import carries on.

Undo an import

The Transactions page shows your last import with Undo. It deletes every transaction from that file, including ones you’ve changed since.
