About AI Budgie

Why we built it

We started building AI Budgie in 2026 because keeping track of our own spending was more trouble than it should be. Writing down every purchase took time and attention, and a budget only helps if it’s up to date.

So we built the budget we wanted: you tell it what you spent in one sentence, or send a photo of the receipt, and it files the purchase under the right category. You check it and confirm, and the month stays current.

AI Budgie is built by a software engineer with 10 years of experience, and we build and run it ourselves.

How we run it

• No bank connection. AI Budgie never asks for your online banking password. You add spending yourself, by sentence or receipt photo, or import a CSV file from your bank.
• Paid for by its users. There’s a 30-day free trial, then Premium. Your personal data is never sold, and your financial data is never used for advertising.
• Your figures stay out of analytics. Amounts, merchants and chats are never sent to Google Analytics. The privacy policy says exactly what goes where.
• In English and Chinese, in Canadian or US dollars. Prices are in CAD in Canada and USD elsewhere.
